5 day Morocco desert tour from Tangier

Our 5-day Morocco desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert tour starts at the airport/Port/ Riad where we will pick you up. After that, we will drive to visit both the Spartel Cape and the Caves of Hercules. Then, we will drive down through the Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen City. 

You will have time to explore and take pictures and wander around its blue alleys and appreciate the beauty of the architecture and then continue driving over to Fes city and spend the night there at a Riad.

On the second day of our 5-day Morocco desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech, you will have the opportunity to visit the popular imperial city of Fes. Get ready for a full day of exploration of Fes, the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco.

Get “lost” with your local guide as you wander through the narrow winding streets of the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali (Old Medina) where you’ll pay a visit to centuries-old tanneries, intricately decorated mosques, plus one of the oldest universities in the world and the first ever founded by a woman, the University of Al-Quaraouiyine. While there, don’t forget to immerse yourself in the medina’s bustling atmosphere as you wind your way through the old city’s countless lively markets.

Not to mention, discover some of the most fascinating historical hot spots outside of the medina to experience Fes from a different perspective. Stops include the Royal Palace Gates, the Jewish Quarter, and the South Tower, which offers an incredible panoramic view of the old city.

As if that weren’t enough, Fes is also famous the world over for its one-of-a-kind ceramics. To learn more, you’ll have the opportunity to get to meet local artisans and see first-hand how they practice their craft.

On the third day of our 5 day Morocco desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we will drive from Fes to the Sahara Desert. On the way there, we will pass through the city of Ifrane, often called the little Switzerland of Africa. It has beautiful and picturesque architecture. 

After that, we will enjoy the varied scenery and stop in Cedar Forest to rest & take some fabulous photographs and then carry on all the way through the beautiful city of Midelt to Ziz Valley with its panoramic views.

In the evening you’ll arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll hop on a camel and trek into the mesmerizing Sahara Desert to spend the night in a camp.

On the way to the luxury desert camp, you will have a stop to hike one of the highest dunes in Erg Chebbi to watch the sunset.  At the luxury desert camp, you will have the evening entertainment including a drum circle and a campfire under a massive starry sky.

On the fourth day of our 5 day Morocco desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we will leave for Boumalne Dades / Dades Gorges to enjoy the beauty of that place.

We’ll make sure you get up early so you can see the magnificent dawn over the sand dunes, then have breakfast at the hotel and have a warm shower.

After that, we’ll visit Rissani, a traditional Berber town with a popular market/ Souk, and then drive through Erfoud where we will see a fossils workshop, often known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert. After that, we will head the road to the Toudgha Gorges, which are famous for their cliffs and mountains.

Climbers and people who are crazy about mountains and rocks will find this place a paradise. Before arriving at the Toudgha Gorges, we will pass through several towns such as Tinjada, which is renowned for its souks and Ksars.  After lunch, you will then proceed to the Dades Gorges, where you will spend the night.

On the last day of our 5-day Morocco desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech, after a visit to the gorges of Dades, we will leave for Marrakesh city. After breakfast, you will depart the Dades Gorges and travel to Marrakech. You will pass through the Rose Valley, Skoura, known for its Kasbahs and palm groves, and Ouarzazate, Africa’s “Little Hollywood,” where you can visit the Atlas studios.

You will then continue to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the location of some Hollywood movies such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and others, before driving through the High Atlas Mountains with their diverse scenery and landscapes.
