The Alaouite dynasty, the present ruling family in Morocco, was born in the ancient city of Rissani, which we will visit en route. We will visit the Ksour of Rissani, a collection of fortified settlements that date back to the 17th century, and tour the area’s customary souk (market).
After that, we’ll travel via the Toudra Gorge. Also, see palm trees. Last but not least, we will continue our drive to the Dades Valley, popular for its spectacular rock formations and historic kasbahs, after lunch at a neighborhood eatery (fortified villages). We’ll stay the night in a classic guesthouse, where we’ll have a sumptuous dinner and take in the tranquility of the valley.
On the last day of our 5 desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we’ll leave the Dades Valley and head to the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most impressive Kasbahs. This fortified village has appeared in numerous films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones, and is a must-see on any Moroccan vacation.
After exploring the kasbah and taking photos of that incredible view, we’ll continue on to Marrakesh via the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi NTichka Pass, Morocco’s highest road pass at 2,260 meters above sea level. When we arrive in Marrakesh our 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakesh via the Sahara Desert will come to an end.
FANTASTIC! We spent a 5 days tour satrting from Fes and ending it in Marrakech, traveling throughout most of Morocco. With Rachid as our amiable driver and tour guide, we had the nicest time. We are happy with the services and would undoubtedly use Holidays in Morocco again.
AMAZING 5 DAYS IN MOROCCO. My family and I finally decided to visit Morocco and we booked a 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara desert with Holidays in Morocco; it was the best thing we did, as we got to see the beauty of Morocco, rode camels, took a million photos and had lots of fun thanks to our kind and friendly driver Rachid who was super helpful all along.
