3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

On the first day of your 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, you will be picked up from your riad in Marrakech to begin your adventure. You will drive through the Atlas Mountains where you can enjoy some of the most spectacular views and landscapes. After several stops along the way, you will reach one of the most popular destinations the country has to offer – the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Get ready to be taken back to a bygone era as you stroll through the unique beauty of this kasbah and learn about its long and fascinating history – including its appearance in several box-office Hollywood hits.

You will then enjoy a traditional Berber lunch at one of Ouarzazate’s best restaurants, just a few miles away from the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Just after lunch, you will visit another kasbah nearby, Kasbah Amridil.

Speaking of Hollywood, Ouarzazate is often referred to as the little Hollywood of Africa thanks to its Atlas Studios. Many famous local and foreign movies have been shot there, which makes it a top destination in Morocco receiving hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. 

A stop in the Rose Valley is also a must, where you will have the chance to pick up any of your favorite rose-themed products. Peruse the more than one hundred different ways in which roses are used, ranging anywhere from beauty products to cooking products to simply giving a lovely scent to your home.

From there you’ll depart to your hotel in Boumalne Dades.

On the second day of your 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, you’ll leave for the Sahara Desert. On the way, there will be a number of stops in various beautiful places, such as the Valley of Todgha and the Gorges of Toudgha, situated a few miles from Tinghir, a small Berber town in the Southeastern region of Morocco.

After that, you’ll continue to Tinjdad for a delicious lunch before driving through Mellab, Eljorf, and Erfoud, several interesting desert towns that are known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

When you reach your destination in the Sahara Desert, you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before setting off on your camel ride. Immerse yourself in one of the most spectacular experiences the desert has to offer as you are taken across some of the highest dunes amongst the backdrop of a Saharan sunset. The camels will take you to your luxury desert camp for the night, while your luggage will be taken to the camp by our driver.

Wake up to a gorgeous sunrise and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast in the middle of the Sahara Desert before making way back to Marrakech.

Explore several other new places and towns as a different route will be taken, such as Alnif, Nkob, and the Ait Saouen pass with some of the highest mountains and cliffs.

Upon arrival to Marrakech, your 3 days tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga will come to an end. Drop off either at your riad or at the airport, according to your travel plans.
