5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes

The first day of our  5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes is one of our unique itineraries, in the sense that we’ll take you on an unforgettable journey across the High Atlas Mountains with the most magical panoramic views all the way to the little Hollywood of Africa, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou & the neighboring city of Ouarzazate, known for its fancy museums, Kasbahs, Atlas studios, and traditional architecture and the fact that it resembles Marrakesh in a way.

We’ll make a stop in the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou to explore it. After that, we will have lunch and continue driving to Ouarzazate to see the Atlas studios. Then we will continue our way to Boumalne Dades, and the Gorge of Dades, where we’ll spend the night at a Riad.

On the second day of our 5-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, we’re gonna get up early, have breakfast, and drive over to the Sahara Desert. On the way there, we’ll get to see a bunch of interesting places & towns, such as the Toudgha Gorge, known worldwide for its mountains and cliffs and is a number one destination for tourists and hikers.

We’ll take a walk and explore the place together. After that, we’ll continue driving to the great Sahara Desert and pass through numerous Berber villages along the way, namely Tinjdad, and Eljorf, Mellab all the way to Erfoud, a town known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert. 

When in the Sahara Desert, we’ll ride camels & enjoy the beauty of the Erg Chebbi Desert as well as take amazing pictures both of the golden sand and the beautiful Saharan sunset. We’ll spend the night there at a luxury desert camp and have a great Saharan and Berber time there ( Evening entertainment including a drum circle and a campfire).

On the third day of your 5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, we’ll take you on a local tour around the Sahara desert to explore the desert lifestyle and meet local nomads. After that, we’ll drive over to a place called Glb Nass to see its beauty and take some amazing pictures.

Then we’ll continue driving to Khamlia, the village of Gnawa (people who arrived from Southern countries of Africa such as Mali and Gabon. Last but not, least, we’ll drive over the Sand dunes, do some snowboarding, and visit the Saharan Oases of Hassi Labied. Today you will stay in a hotel in Merzouga with a sand dunes view.

On the fourth day of our 5 days tour from Marrakech to Fes via Merzouga desert, we’ll get up early, have breakfast take a shower, and then head over to Midelt city. On the way, we’ll get to stop and see some wonderful spots and take pictures. We’ll pay Rissani a visit to see its traditional market and then visit Erfoud, A desert town known for fossils.

After that, we’ll stop to enjoy the beauty of Ait Chakr Pass and then Ziz Valley, the number one source of dates in the area and even in Morocco. After that, we will carry on driving through the Tizi Talghomt Pass with its panoramic views and giant mountains all the way to Midelt City where we’ll spend the night

On the fifth day, unfortunately, the last day of our 5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara Desert, we’ll continue driving to Fes, one of the four imperial cities in Morocco and the scientific capital of Morocco. In fact, the first University in the whole world was founded in Fes (Al Quaraouiyine University).

On the way there, we’ll stop in Meknes City and explore its prominent places and monuments; we’ll start by Lahdim Square, a marketplace in the heart of the old Medina. It resembles Jamaa Lfna square. We’ll get to see the Ismaeli architecture from the past and take some pictures of those giant walls and gates.

After that, we’ll visit the Roman ruins, Volubilis, and then continue driving to Fes. When we get there, our 5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes comes to an end
