6 days in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech

On the first day of your 6-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, you will be picked up at either the airport or your hotel in Casablanca. Spend the day getting to know the biggest city in Morocco, as well as some of its well-known monuments, namely the world-famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in Africa and the world.

From here you will be off to the capital city of Rabat. Here you will visit the Hassan Tower, the Kasbah of the Udayas, and the Mohammed V Mausoleum.

Your journey will then continue to the historic imperial city of Fes, one of Morocco’s most culturally and spiritually significant cities. Along the way, you will stop at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis near Meknes before making your way to your night’s stay in a riad in the heart of Fes’s old medina.

On the second day of your 6-day in Morocco from Casablanca to Marrakech, you will get a chance to do some sightseeing in the imperial city of Fes and explore its main attractions with a local tour guide.

First up, visit the enchanting old medina of Fes, known as Fes el-Bali. Next, you will head over to Borj Nord which offers a magnificent view of the entire city. A truly beautiful spot for picture perfect moments.

From there head over to the world’s first ever university, Quaraouiyine University, established in the 9th century.

And last but not least, the day cannot be complete without spending some time in the modern part of the city, known as Fes New Town.

When ready, head back to the riad for a good night’s rest after a fulfilling day of exploration.

On the third day of your 6-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, pack up and leave for the Sahara Desert of Merzouga with stops along the way at some interesting places.

First up, you will visit Ifrane, one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco with a unique architecture and climate. Nearby is the Cedar Forest, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy some beautiful nature, breath in some fresh air and hang out with the wild, but personable, monkeys.

From there, your trip to the Sahara Desert will continue via Midelt, a town famous for its production of delicious apples and beautiful restaurants. Once your bellies are full from a tasty lunch, you will set off for Erfoud, the gateway of the Sahara Desert.

Apart from serving as an entrance to the vast lands of the desert, Erfoud is famous for local fossils, which are hundreds of millions of years old, plus numerous stores selling Berber and Saharan outfits and souvenirs.

By the afternoon, you will arrive to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Once there, it will be time to hop on a camel for your ride across the dunes and to catch the majestic Saharan sunset as you are taken to your luxury desert camp for a night sleeping under the stars. 

On the fourth day of your 6-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, the entire day will be spent exploring the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Take advantage of as many of the fun Saharan activities available as you wish.

Not to be missed, however, is an early start in order to witness a spectacular and picturesque sunrise over the golden sand dunes before savoring a delicious desert breakfast. Once fuelled up, cruise across the sand dunes in a 4×4 quad or by camel, as per your choice.

In addition, get to know some of the locals when you visit the small village of Khamlia and drink some tea with nomads.

As the day draws to an end, return to your desert camp and sit around the campfire to the tunes of Berber music. Another magical night of stargazing awaits!

On day five of your 6-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, it will be time to swap the desert sands of Merzouga for the oasis of Boumalne Dades, located in the picturesque Dades Valley.

As there is plenty to see along the way, you will first stop at the desert town of Rissani, known for its magical souks and fascinating Berber architecture. 

The drive to Dades is a beautiful one, dotted with many earthen villages all the way until the Todra Gorges next to Tinghir. The Todra Gorges can be found tucked away amongst staggering mountains which offer some incredible panoramic views. Its distinctive look and feel has seen many tourists from all over the world fall in love with its magical beauty.

Take a walk through the valley to fully capture the richness of this unique place before heading off to your riad in Boumalne Dades.

On the last day of your 6-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, get ready for one final day of adventure. Your journey to Marrakech will first take you to Ouarzazate and the neighboring world-famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the number one destination for top filmmakers and photographers alike.

So famed is the UNESCO World Heritage site, that the Kasbah is often referred to as the Little Hollywood of Morocco, thanks to the various classics and Academy Award winning movies which have been filmed here.

You will then pass through the High Atlas Mountains where you will have the chance to soak in some spectacularly breathtaking views.
