7 days in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech

On the first day of your 7-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, you will be picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel to rest. When reenergized, you will have the opportunity to explore some popular places around town, namely the world-famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in Africa and the world.

Later in the day, check out the vibrant neighborhood of Habous, known for its traditional Moroccan architecture and markets.

At night, head back toward your hotel to enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at a nearby restaurant.

On the second day of your 7-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, depart for Rabat after a nice breakfast to spend some time in the capital city of Morocco. Once there, you will visit several key places, such as the Kasbah of the Udayas – an historic fortress overlooking the Atlantic Ocean – the Chellah monuments and the Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret of a mosque.

From there your journey will continue to Chefchaouen, known the world over for its bright and colorful blue-washed buildings. Allow yourself to get lost as you wander through the narrow streets of its old medina and enjoy its special ambiance.

On day three, you will have a bit of time in the morning for some last minute strolling through Chefchaouen’s charming alleyways before leaving for the ancient Roman city of Volubilis. Volubilis is the only city of its kind in Morocco, located in the outskirts of the Fes-Meknes region. Here you will have the chance to explore the well-preserved ruins, including the Basilica, the Capitoline Temple, and the Triumphal Arch.

From there you will make your way to Meknes, known as the “Versailles of Morocco”. Visit the beautiful Bab Mansour Gate at the heart of Meknes, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Royal Stables, and other various important monuments. 

Your day will end in Fes, where you will be served a traditional Moroccan dinner and spend the night in a riad. 

On the fourth day of your 7-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, get ready for a full day of exploration of Fes, the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco. Get lost in the labyrinthine city center with your local guide as you wander through the narrow winding streets of the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali (Old Medina). There you will visit centuries-old tanneries, intricately decorated mosques, plus one of the oldest universities in the world and the first ever founded by a woman – the University of Al-Quaraouiyine. While there, don’t forget to immerse yourself in the medina’s bustling atmosphere as you wind your way through the old city’s countless lively markets.

Once you leave the old center, discover some of the most fascinating historical hot spots outside of the medina to experience Fes from a different perspective. Stops include the Royal Palace Gates, the Jewish Quarter, and the South Tower, which offers an incredible panoramic view of the old city.

Beyond its extraordinary beauty and allure, Fes is also world famous for its one-of-a-kind ceramics. To learn more, you will have the opportunity to meet local artisans and see first-hand how they practice their craft.

On the day five of your 7-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, you will leave Fes and drive to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. On the way there, you are going to stop by Ifrane, a picturesque town known as the “Little Switzerland” of Africa, given its alpine architecture.

Next, you will stop by the Cedar Forest in Azrou, home to the Barbary Macaques wild monkeys, and then continue to Midelt, a town located in the Middle Atlas Mountains. After that, your drive will continue through the Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and scenic landscapes well-worth capturing.

Once you arrive to Merzouga, you will see a whole different vibe and scenery unique to Morocco’s Saharan Desert. Experience a camel ride through the golden sand dunes, watch a most memorable sunset, and enjoy traditional Berber music all while spending some time under the night sky around a campfire at your luxury desert camp. 

On the 6th day of your 7-day in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, get up early to witness a magical sunrise over the golden sand dunes before savoring a delicious desert breakfast. Once fuelled up, you will depart for Rissani, a historic desert town known for its traditional markets, as well as the ruins of Sijilmassa, an ancient trading hub.

Your journey will then continue to Erfoud where you can explore its fossil workshops and marble factories. From there you will make your way to the stunning Todra Gorges, found tucked away amongst staggering mountains which offer some incredible panoramic views. Take a walk through the valley to fully capture the richness of this unique place before heading off to your riad in Boumalne Dades for the night.

On the last day of your 7-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, get ready for one final day of adventure. After breakfast you will head off to venture through the Roses Valley, known for its rose gardens and cosmetic products.

From there you will make your way to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco” given that the local studios have been a prime filming location for both local and foreign movies, along with the neighboring UNESCO World Heritage site Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou.

After a nice stroll through the kasbah, you will complete the final stretch of the trip across the Atlas Mountains until you reach Marrakech where your time with us will sadly come to an end.
